About (SPOT)
‘SPOT’ is an acronym for St Peter’s Online Theology, an undertaking by the reputed St Peter’s Pontifical Institute, Bangalore. The sole agenda of the hugely anticipated initiative is the enriching and embellishing of Christian Faith and Commitment among our Laity and Religious. SPOT desires to propel people’s thirst for and understanding of God. It believes that knowledge of God is the door way to God-experience. SPOT remains committed to the spreading and augmenting of the science of God through meaningful discourse and effective studies in Christian Scriptures, Theology, Canon Law, Liturgy, Mission and Evangelization.

OBJECTIVES

COURSES OFFERED
A. Diploma in Theology: Biblical Studies, Systematic Theology, Moral Theology, Canon Law, Liturgy and Missiology.
Duration: Two Years
B. Certificate Course: Biblical Theology and Biblical Spirituality, Canon Law for Religious, Dialogue and Evangelisation.
Duration: One year

ELIGIBILITY
- Enough to have + 2 or PUC level qualification.
- Workable knowledge of English to follow the lectures and present the assignments and work outs (The Course as of now is made available only in English).
- The Course is thrown open to all the aspirants looking out to enhance and embellish their Christian Faith and Commitment, and more so to deepen their experience and understanding of God.
- Registration is done on the “first come, first served” formula. However, Lay Faithful and Religious Sisters and Brothers are our target groups.
HOW TO APPLY?
- Online applications via email arepreferred (applications are available in the website).
- We accept Offline applications too.
What’s Required:
1. Photo copies of certificates and mark sheets as proof of academic qualification.
2. Two recent photographs (preferably passport size).
3. Payment of course feeeither by Cheque/DD/NEFT.
(Once the administration receives the request/application via email or via post for registration, the respective applicants will be provided with a Register Number and subsequent details).

- Diploma in Theology -Rs. 6000 /-
- Certificate Course - Rs. 3000 /-
Working Hours
- Diploma in Theology - Thursdays (6 pm – 7.30 pm) July to February.
- Certificate Course- Saturdays (6 pm – 7.30 pm) July to February.

The Paris Foreign Mission Society (MEP) founded St Peter’s Seminary at Pondicherry in 1778. In 1934, MEP shifted the Seminary to Bangalore.
The Seminary introduced Bachelor’s Degree in Theology in 1962 in the academic curriculum affiliating it to the Pontifical Urban University, Rome.
